Air conditioner saver trial

As a part of Blacktown Solar City, Integral Energy is running four voluntary 24-month Energy Saver Trials in Blacktown, starting from October 2007. Taking part is a great way to do your bit to help secure Australia’s energy future. You can choose to participate in one or more of the trials. You are also free to opt out of a trial at any time should you wish to do so.

You’ll receive energy bonuses of up to $100
By taking part in these important trials you’ll have a great opportunity to save money off your energy bills. In addition to these potential savings, an immediate $25 bonus will also be credited to your next Integral Energy electricity bill to thank you for participating. Better still, you’ll receive a further $75 at the trial’s completion.

Trial 1 – Air Conditioner Saver
Do you own an air conditioner which is less than 7 years old?
Volunteer for this trial and for a maximum of 12 days a year your air conditioner will be remotely controlled. Specifically, we’ll arrange for it to be automatically switched off for up to 20 minutes every hour during ‘peak energy periods’. A previous study has shown that household temperatures rise by an average of only 1-2°C during this time, whilst reducing energy consumption by up to 30%. ‘Peak energy periods’ are defined as 1pm-8pm on up to 12 days between 1 November and 31 March per year.
